I am thinking of becoming a pigeon expert in the future and I was wondering, how do I take care of a pigeon? What breeds are there? And what common information of pigeons do I need to know to get started?

General discussion / Trying to buy real hatchable fertilized pigeon eggs

I'm new here. It doesn't look like many postings are around. I'll try anyway: I am looking for eggs my pigeon hen can lay. She's alone, only loves me, and is nasty to any male introduced. She is a devout brooder and I can't take it anymore watching her try so hard to hatch her unfertilized (obviously) eggs and show utter temper tantrums, which she does, by the end of her brood cycle. Does ANYONE have ANY ideas for where/who I can buy from some hatable eggs? ANY viable pigeon eggs at all? "Bunny" wants LIFE to happen so she can feel success finally. She is a standard European black-banded wild pigeon. I got her when she was blown out of her nest at a couple of weeks old near a shopping mall. She was cold, dehydrated, and starving. I tube fed her, then got her eating on her own using the plastic bag with a hole trick where she pokes her beak into the opening and sucks her formula till she was ready for pecking food. She's a beautiful two-year-old now, so smart, and fully domesticated with tricks, and responds to what you say and reacts appropriately. Very smart and amazing gal.

Please someone get back to me? I looked all over the Internet with no luck. I will buy a handful since I have a small emergency incubator in case the ones I slip under her don't hatch. I'm ready and prepared. Then I'll slip the emerging baby under her because she's so truly tame and easygoing. One way or the other.

I love birds and have two Plymouth Rock hens, 2 silky Bantams, and a Red Golden Pheasant along with "Bunny", who gets along with the silkies and the Pheasant rather well, oddly enough. Too bad my Pheasant, "Romeo", can't cross-breed! That's how desperate I am.

Hi , I am new to the forum , i have had homers for over 50 yrs.
I have a sick or disabled young homer with symptoms I have never seen
its like he is drunk and has trouble standing and wobbles like he is dizzy.
any ideas , please post, I hate to have to destroy him

We would call that a fly away. Very rare, but it sometimes happens on a very cloudless blue sky and its perfect conditions for flying. Yes you can lose birds that have been trained out but usually they will start straggling in. Same thing happened to me. 10 birds, all 2020 Homers, but 9 of mine came back after 2 1/2 day all in a drop. Eight days are a very long time. Totally doubt they were shot by a hunter. Good Luck.

Older pigeons are bought for breeding stock! They are bought to breed babies that will then be raced to your loft, or sold or given away so other fanciers can use them for racing or for their own purposes.

Practical Explanation ( For Example ) :- `1st of all can you tell me every single seconds detail from that time when you born ?? ( i need every seconds detail ?? that what- what you have thought and done on every single second )

can you tell me every single detail of your `1 cheapest Minute Or your whole hour, day, week, month, year or your whole life ??

if you are not able to tell me about this life then what proof do you have that you didn't forget your past ? and that you will not forget this present life in the future ?

that is Fact that Supreme Lord Krishna exists but we posses no such intelligence to understand him.
there is also next life. and i already proved you that no scientist, no politician, no so-called intelligent man in this world is able to understand this Truth. cuz they are imagining. and you cannot imagine what is god, who is god, what is after life etc.

Chant " hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare " and be happy.

if you still don,t believe on me then chant any other name for 5 Min's and chant this holy name for 5 Min's and you will see effect. i promise you it works And chanting at least 16 rounds ( each round of 108 beads ) of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra daily.

General discussion / entire trained team vanishes from home loft

We released our team of 14 trained young birds from home loft and they vanished, this was 8 days ago so i have little hope of any returning anymore. these birds were well flown daily with many drops from all directions up to 30 miles, These birds knew their way around area and around the loft. we live in northern ontario, prior to this we had been so lucky with them, we have only lost one bird in two months of releases. Does anyone know how 14 trained birds can leave from their loft and just vanish? has anyone heard of this happening with trained birds? We fear they were shot down by hunters. any feed back appreciated
